Hi. This is the workshop. The place where Patternflow gets made, and not just by me.

Patternflow was never meant to be one person's work. The whole idea is to put making into everyone's hands. That should include the making of Patternflow itself. So this is not where I announce finished things. Unfinished things live here. Research, experiments, half-working prototypes, failures worth reading.

How this works. The workshop is divided into directions, each with a code. S is Sound, B is Build, C is Connect, X is Scale, P is Pattern. And W is this one, the workshop about the workshop. A direction is a long line of work. It doesn't really end. Inside each direction are threads. A thread can be a work log, a question, an idea, a report that something broke. Open one whenever you want. You don't need permission, and you don't need to finish what you start.

This isn't starting from zero. Someone is building a TouchDesigner bridge. Someone is refining a snap-fit enclosure. Laser-cut builds are in progress. An Art collective mapped patterns onto projection, synced to sound. Audio-reactive work is starting too. Lots of people have asked for that one. None of these are mine. They'll show up here as threads, written by the people actually doing them.

Not everything here has to be code. Trying something and telling us what happened. Saying you'd use a thing if it existed. A photo of your build. Answering someone's question because you hit the same wall last month. That all counts. Honestly, this project has grown more from those things than from any feature I shipped.

Why here, and not GitHub or Discord. Some countries can't reach those services. Some people won't cross the barrier of a developer platform. I want this to be a place where everyone can actually show up.

I'll post a digest here from time to time. What moved, who moved it.
