Twisted Tunnel
A tunnel of nested frames in Mondrian's colours — red, blue, yellow, black and white — falling endlessly inward out of a vanishing point and twisting into a spiral as it goes. There is no loop point. Every ring's colour, shape, spacing, lean and slow drift is fixed by its own index the moment it appears at the centre, so a ring keeps its identity until it swells past the edge and nothing pops or re-rolls on screen. The twist is keyed on a ring's size rather than its position in the sequence, which makes the tunnel a true logarithmic spiral: it turns as it falls. About one ring in five carries a pattern — dots, a grid, diagonals, a checker or bars — locked to that ring, so the pattern zooms and twists with it. Each one starts flat at the vanishing point and resolves as it approaches, rather than shimmering at a size too small to read. Edges are anti-aliased by exact pixel coverage at each edge's real angle and blended in linear light, so a red/blue seam stays clean on a 64-pixel-wide panel. Colour is the same continuous-hue equation as Mondrian: dead centre of the Color knob is his own red, ultramarine and chrome yellow, and the rest of the knob rotates his lopsided palette relationship around the wheel. Black and white stay true black and white at every hue. Knobs: • Step (1.2–1.72) — spacing between rings, tight bands to wide frames • Tilt (0–0.5) — twist per ring; 0 is square nested frames, the top is a hard spiral • Color (0–1) — continuous hue; centre is Mondrian's own palette • Speed (0.05–12) — how fast it falls Low Step with high Tilt is where it comes apart into shards — a deliberate extreme, not the default.
No recordings yet. A performance is a timed ride through the knobs (Director's Save-JSON) that a panel replays exactly — publish one and it is live immediately, credited to you.
